1934 Irish Amateur Golf Championship silver trophy awarded to Hector Thomson, played at Portmarnock the twin handled Art Deco trumpet shaped trophy with circular base, engraved GOLFING UNION OF IRELAND, IRISH AMATEUR OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP STROKE COMPETITION, 2NF NETT, HECTOR THOMSON 1934, hallmarked silver, Dublin 1934 by S. D Neill, height 12cm, weight 180gr., bears minor wear and slightly out of shape Hector Thomson (1913-88), a Scottish golfer, who won the 1936 Amateur Championship and was on the British Walker Cup team in 1936 and 1938. He won the Scottish Professional Championship in 1953 and turning professional in 1945.
