Official West Germany F.A. pennant presented to the Football Association on the occasion of the World Cup Quarter-Final match, played in Leon, Mexico, 14th June 1970, green satin ground, silk work D.F.B crest and match inscription, the reverse with applied shield in the colours of the West German national flag, original bar, 55 by 42cm. Reigning World Champions England conceded a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 to West Germany at the Estadio de Guanajuato. It should be noted this is the pennant presented by the West Germany FA to the Football Association and is not the pennant exchanged by the team captains prior to kick-off. Provenance: Consigned from the Bryan Horsnell Collection (lots 587 to 804).
