A red and white Arsenal No.9 home jersey circa 1989, long-sleeved, with club crest and sponsors logo, reverse numbered 9, unknown player, size 40-42in., slight thread loss to left sleeve seam near cuff Arsenal won the Football League First Division and came third in both the F.A. Cup and League Cup in the 1988-89 season and were fourth in both Cups in the 1989-90 season and fourth in the First Division. Although there were no squad numbers at this period, the player overwhelmingly associated with the No.9 shirt was Alan Smith. It is understood to have been match-worn.
