Dupont, Paris, gilt & blue enamel cigarette lighter, inscribed with race details, in original fitted case Sporting Yankee was an American-bred bay colt (1974) by Vaguely Noble out of Sale Day (To Market). He was owned by the race sponsor William Hill Racing and trained by Peter Walwyn at Lambourn. The following year he won the March Stakes at Goodwood.
