Victorian silver Low Medal, the obverse engraved with figure of a golfer, the reverse inscribed PRESENTED BY Mr GEORGE LOW GROCER MONTROSE TO THE MERCANTILE GOLF CLUB, 1896 within raised oval border, by Charles Edward Solomon, with ring suspension, 8cm high with inscribed ribbon and bar, one bar inscribed WILLIAM FINDLAY, 83 Strokes 1896, GEORGE M SMITH, 82 STROKES 1897, GEORGE M. SMITH, 75 STOKES 1898, the other THIS MEDAL WAS THREE TIMES BY G.M. SMITH NOW BECOMES HIS PROPERTY, with white-metal plaque THE LOW Medal, presented to the club in 1994 by Mrs Margaret Smith, Tauranga, New Zealand.

The medal was won outright by her husband's grandfather George M. Smith, mounted on blue velvet, on easel stand
