Rare edition of possibly the first French paperback booklet published on lawn Tennis, titled “Regle des Jeux de Croquet et de Lawn-Tennis par Laun”, this very nice edition is complete with 32-page, 190 of which contain 21 rules of the game and a short essay on “Jeu de Paume”. Significantly, this booklet contains a diagram of one of the earliest types of lawn tennis court showing a serving rectangle or crease at one end of the court, this pattern ceased in England by the mid 1870s
