St Simon is amongst the most important stallions in the history of the thoroughbred. Undefeated as a racehorse, he was retired to stud in 1886. He was the leading sire in Britain & Ireland between 1890 and 1896 and 1900 and 1901. He was also leading broodmare sire between 1903 and 1907 and 1916. His progeny won a total of 17 Classic races.
