In the match played on 1st March 1909 at The Racecourse Ground, Wales defeated Scotland 3-2

Provenance: Christie's Scotland, Football Memorabilia, 8th November 1995, Lot 124A

John May played as a left half-back and began his football career at Bo'ness, then Wishaw Thistle and Abercorn, before signing for Derby County playing in two F.A.Cup Finals.

He joined Rangers in May 1904 and went on to play 148 times and won five international caps for Scotland between 1906 and 1909
