Ayrton Senna 1992 McLaren Race Used Winning Helmet - British, German & Hungarian GP
Ayrton Senna 1992 McLaren Race Used & Race Winning Helmet - British, German & Hungarian Grand Prix.
This is an exceptional race-used Shoei Formula One helmet worn by 3-time World Champion Ayrton Senna during the 1992 Formula One World Championship. Including race used at the 1992 Hungarian Grand Prix where Senna claimed victory.
The helmet shows extensive signs of race use, including stone chips, and other identifying marks. Detailed examination and multiple photographic comparisons have verified the helmet's use by Senna during the 1992 British, German & Hungarian Grand Prix, with the distinctive wear patterns and markings corresponding to period race imagery.
The interior of the helmet retains its original production identification label marked: Production No A / MAR 1992 / Inspector: H. Takayama.
The helmet also bears its original Snell SA90 label with serial number: SA 0025979.
Of particular significance are the race-specific modifications associated with Formula One's tobacco advertising restrictions in certain countries during the 1992 season. At races including the British and German Grands Prix, teams were required to alter or obscure tobacco sponsorship branding through the use of blanking tape or alternative decals.
During the 1992 German Grand Prix, it was the only time in F1 history where Senna, Schumacher and Mansell shared a podium together.
Senna was the reigning World Champion in the 1992 Formula One season, and it was the final season of Honda-McLaren.
The helmet is accompanied by an official McLaren Certificate of Authenticity. From multiple photo matching, the helmet wasn't used at the French Grand Prix. The helmet was used in the British, German & Hungarian Grand Prix.
