Legendary Fight-Worn Gloves and Trunks

Few sports deliver drama like boxing.

At BUDDS we’ve brought to auction some of the most memorable items ever worn in the ring.

On 18 June 1963 at Wembley Stadium, Henry Cooper floored the young Cassius Clay, later Muhammad Ali. We sold Cooper’s gloves for £85,000, alongside Clay’s signed red and white Ampro trunks, which realised £70,000 – giving collectors access to both sides of one of Britain’s most famous fights.

We also offered Ali’s gloves from the 1975 World Heavyweight Championship bout against Joe Bugner in Kuala Lumpur. The Winning S.S FP-800 gloves, signed by both fighters, realised £46,000 – a remarkable piece of fight history.

Beyond gloves and trunks, BUDDS has sold championship belts that represent boxing’s highest prizes. Jackie Paterson’s 9-carat gold and enamel Lonsdale Belt achieved £20,000 at auction.
