Derek Dougan played in the England and Wales matches both played in Belfast. The games ended in two thumping defeats, 5-2 and 5-1 respectively. However, Dougan did have the compensation of scoring the Northern Ireland goal in the Wales match, his first at international level. Derek Dougan was a Blackburn Rovers player at the time this cap was awarded.
