England cap awarded to Tommy Crawshaw for the Home International Championship match v Wales in season 1895-96,the red velvet cap embroidered in gold wire with the English rose emblem and dated 1895-96, silk lined interior printed with FOSTER & CO OXFORD & 4 REGENT STREET, LONDON, bears stitched in label with 7716 in black ink, 63/8 written in pencil on silk lining, good clean condition with little wear England beat Wales 9-1 at Cardiff Arms Park, 16th March 1896. Thomas ‘Tommy’ Henry Crawshaw (1872-1960) made 418 League appearances for ‘The Wednesday’ between 1894 and 1908, scoring 25 goals, and is the only player in the club’s history to win two FA Cup winner's medals (1896 and 1907).
