Northern Football League Championship and Northern Football League Challenge Cup 'double' medals awarded to Ken Murray of Bishop Auckland FC in season 1949-50, both in 9ct. gold (total weight 19gr.), both fully inscribed and named to K. Murray (2) Bishop Auckland won the Northern F.L. title with a total of 43 points, six clear of Billingham Synthonia. In the Cup final they beat Shildon 3-1 to achieve the 'double.' Ken Murray later played in the Football League, firstly for Darlington and then four other clubs making the most appearances for Mansfield Town. Provenance: Consigned from the Bryan Horsnell Collection (lots 587 to 804).
