John Beer (British, 1860-1930) watercolour of the finish of the 1905 Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket,
signed, titled, with the first three racehorses identified including the winner St. Amant, watercolour heightened with gouache, in modern mounting & frame under glass, the image 26 by 36cm., overall 41 by 50cm.

Lots 10 to 34 Memorabilia relating to the Royal Jockey John Watts (1861-1902) and the jockey Kempton Cannon (1879-1951). The connection between the two jockeys being that Watts's widow married Cannon. Provenance: by family descent.
