Hoof of King George V's racehorse Scuttle the 1928 1,000 Guineas winner,
with a London silver top by Henry Hodson Plante, 1934, inscribed “Scuttle” Captain Cuttle - Stained Glass Winner of the One Thousand Guineas foaled 1925, died 1934., with 1993.LN.640.2 in ink on the underside, with crack to sole.

Scuttle was the solitary horse belonging to King George V to win a classic when the mare triumphed in the 1928 1,000 Guineas, with jockey Joe Childs, Scuttle was bred at Sandringham.

Provenance: The royal jockey Joe Childs, thence by family descent.
