in the form of a silver two-handled trophy cup & cover, hallmarked Ollivant & Botsford, London, 1948, the cover surmounted by a model of a racehorse and jockey, the body inscribed MANCHESTER RACES, JOHN PEEL CUP, 1949, “TOPPED UP”, OWNED BY LT. COL. E.B. STUDD, RIDDEN BY Mr. J.J. STRAKER, later presented to Cheltenham Racecourse, the reverse side of the body inscribed PRESENTED TO THE CHELTENHAM STEEPLECHASE COMPANY IN 1972, FOR THE STUDD CHALLENGE CUP HANDICAP CHASE, BY Mrs. E.B. STUDD, IN MEMORY OF HER LATE HUSBAND LT. COL. E.B. STUDD, height 33cm., weight 1,295gr.
