George Finch Mason (British, 1850-1915) watercolour of the finish of the 1897 Cambridgeshire at Newmarket,
signed, titled ‘Comfrey Wins! The Cambrideshire, 1897, watercolour heightened with gouache, in modern mounting and frame under glass, the image 24 by 34cm., overall 41 by 50cm.

Lots 10 to 34 Memorabilia relating to the Royal Jockey John Watts (1861-1902) and the jockey Kempton Cannon (1879-1951). The connection between the two jockeys being that Watts's widow married Cannon. Provenance: by family descent.
